Skills That Heal

We have established the Schwartz Family Veterinary Scholarship and Animal Welfare Foundation to give back to the community. One critical contribution is providing assistance to students who aspire to become part of the veterinary medical profession.

We recognize the financial challenge many students face. Rising costs of tuition, books and – in some cases, housing expenses – may deter those who have the potential of making outstanding contributions in the field. The Foundation’s goal is to try to offset some of these expenses through the scholarship program.

In the past, we have provided assistance through personal donations. We hope to expand our support through the Foundation. Although newly established, the Foundation has already begun awarding grants. Through the generosity of an increasing number of supporters, we will strive to enable a greater number of students to realize their dream of becoming a valuable member of the veterinary profession.

A student or teacher can submit the application provided on this site. It is then reviewed and the scholarship, when approved, is made to the student.

Diversity within the field is important. We not will not only assist students studying traditional medicine, but also welcome those who seek new trends on the horizon.

Scholarships are determined not only by academic standards but also the applicant’s passion for this field, including future veterinarians who wish to commit themselves to shelter work.
